Demon's Souls - Cutscene Concepts - Maiden in Black

Here are a handful of Lighting and VFX concepts for some of the Maiden in Black's cutscenes. As with most of our effects work, we wanted to strike the right balance between nostalgia and novelty for these story moments. The Maiden is such a beloved character, we wanted to ensure that we treated her scenes with the proper respect, while embellishing just enough to create the appropriate air of verisimilitude.
